Key Features of TeacherLiNC
Modular and Flexible
The training materials are delivered largely
through mentor supported self-study. Teachers plan how they progress through the
training based on their personal priorities.
Realistic
Each module should take approximately 30 hours to complete all
face-to-face training, self supported study, practice and portfolio activities
for assessment. Only 20% of the materials are delivered using face-to-face
training leaving most study conducted at the pace and style of the individual
teacher.
Appropriate
Each module has been built to meet the structure of the National
Curriculum using specifications provided by TTA and DfEE . This makes TeacherLiNC
relevant to the way Mathematics, English and Science are taught in the classroom,
making it easier for the teacher to place ICT skills in the context of their own
classroom.
Cost Effective
A single module is priced below your per teacher funding
entitlement from NOF. This is designed to help you meet some of the extra costs
of training. Classroom support staff can be trained at no additional cost
alongside the teacher they work with.
Distributed Learning
Mentor supported self-study and practice in the classroom
combine to develop a deep appreciation of the appropriate use of ICT. LEAs can
licence a complete Managed Learning Environment solution that not only delivers
the training materials but also provides on-line registration, learner tracking,
customisable discussion groups, "friendly" Email interface and is delivered via
standard internet browsers.
Focused
All modules and resources have been written by subject specialists and
managed by a group of leading ICT advisers. The training materials and resources
realistically reflect teacher's needs and act as a catalyst for increasing
standards by meeting the requirements of the National Numeracy and National
Literacy Strategies.
